Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

What is CPD and why is it important?

CPD refers to the ongoing process of maintaining and enhancing the skills, knowledge, and experience needed throughout your educational therapy career. It involves tracking and documenting learning activities, both formal and informal, to ensure continuous improvement and development. CPD is crucial for keeping professional educational therapists up to date with the latest industry standards and practices, and helps build confidence and credibility, as those committed to their own development are often viewed as more competent and reliable.

As a professional educational therapist, you are required to undertake a minimum number of CPD hours each year and record their completion. For an activity to count towards CPD requirements, you will need to demonstrate how it is relevant to your role and has helped you meet your learning needs.
