Requirements & Fees

The Association offers different tiers of membership to accomodate members at different stages of their careers within the field of educational therapy. It encourages continuous learning and advancement, including fostering a structured professional development pathway, ensuring a high standard of practice, and promoting inclusivity within the organisation.

An individual holding qualification or certification either from the International Assciation of Counselors and Therapists (IACT)  as an educational therapist, qualifies as a full member of the Association. Full membership as an educational therapist will possess voting rights and have the opportunity to be elected to office.

FELLOW

  • Annually

A Fellow Member is a full member and qualified educational therapist/ diagnostician, who holds the highest professional standing in the Association.

A Board-certified Educational Therapist of the IACT qualifies as a Fellow Member of the Association.

PROFESSIONAL

  • Annually

A Professional Member is a full member and qualified educational therapist/ assessor of the Association.

A Registered Educational Therapist of the IACT respectively qualifies as a Professional Member of the Association.

ASSOCIATE

An Associate Member is a full member and qualified educational therapist of the Association.

A Credentialed Educational Therapist of the IACT respectively qualifies as an Associate Member of the Association.

ALLIED

Allied Members are recognised professionals who hold practising licences or relevant qualifications within related fields. They uphold high standards of ethical practice, demonstrate a commitment to evidence-based approaches, and contribute meaningfully to interdisciplinary collaboration. This membership tier reflects a shared dedication to advancing quality care and professional excellence across allied disciplines. We invite qualified practitioners to join us and benefit from professional recognition, networking, and continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities:

Affiliate Members are valued partners who contribute to the strength and diversity of our professional community. While they may not be engaged in direct clinical or educational practice, their support, collaboration, and commitment to professional excellence enrich the work we collectively do. 

We welcome individuals who share our mission and wish to remain connected through knowledge exchange, events, and professional development. Parents and teachers looking for knowledge and tools , and interested in supporting individuals with learning disorders and challenges could apply to be an Affiliate Member.

STUDENT

Our Student Members represent the future of the profession. They are individuals currently undertaking formal training in relevant academic or clinical programmes and demonstrate early commitment to developing their knowledge and skills. This membership tier provides students with valuable opportunities for mentorship, professional exposure, and participation in learning activities that support their career growth. We warmly welcome students who aspire to contribute to the field and uphold the values of professionalism and ethical practice.

Proof of enrolment must be submitted during application as a Student Member.

Proof of ongoing school enrolment is required to continue the membership during renewal.
